Lyon & Grenoble selected for '100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030'

Lyon, Grenoble and seven other French cities have been selected by the European Commission (Paris, Marseille, Angers Loire metropole, Dijon metropole, Bordeaux metropole, Dunkerque and Nantes metropole). All of these cities will have to sign a Climate City Contract in order to contractualize their commitments.

This is a great source of pride for Lyon, which, with this program, becomes a pioneer city in France and Europe in meeting the challenge of climate neutrality. It is also a recognition of the cooperation with associations, businesses and universities, which have given us their support in this application, said the ecologist mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet.

By joining the 100 Climate Neutral Cities program, the City of Lyon will benefit from networking, learning, and funding opportunities for pilot projects, as well as from high visibility on the post-carbon city plan on a European scale, said the city in a statement.
